Frequently Asked Questions
What is your typical leadtime from start to finish?
Typically for most of the year we have a 2 to 4 week turnaround time from start to finish depending on job specifics and work volume. During the busy summer season expect a 4-6 week turnaround. Please plan ahead the best you can because its first come, first serve and you can not pay more to expedite your installation.
How do I obtain an free estimate?
Unlike many countertop companies Discount Granite relies on you to submit the original sketch with measurements. This eliminates the need for a templating appointment and expedites the quoting process. We can provide your quote through email or you are more than welcome to stop in our store any time during our normal business hours. Please note Discount Granite does not provide any quotes over the phone. You can click here to be redirected to our Get A Free Quote Page.
How does the purchasing process work?
Once you have received your quote and are ready to finalize your order we will separate your estimate into material and labor invoices. The material invoice will be due directly to Discount Granite in order to schedule your countertop installation date. The labor invoice is due in full directly to your fabricator upon completion of your project before your fabricator leaves the project site. Once your invoice has been paid for materials you will then have the opportunity to select your personal slabs for your project.
How does the countertop installation process work?
Once you have submitted your sketch with measurements and have received your quote we can then finalize your oder and schedule your countertop installation date with your fabricator. On the scheduled installation date your fabricator will come to your project site with the necessary materials, re-measure/template and begin cutting and installing on site that same day. We also have the option to template beforehand and come back on a separate installation date with the purchase of marble or quartz. Once the installation is complete you will pay the labor invoice directly to your Fabricator before they leave your project site. Your fabricator ONLY accepts cash, check, or money order.

What products do you offer?
Discount Granite offers marble, granite, quartzite and engineered quartz countertops, vanities, and backsplashes. We also offer many types of sink and faucet options, as well as a wide variety of special order cabinets.
What is the difference between granite and engineered quartz?
Granite counters are mined from pure stone. The stone is sawed into slabs or made into tiles and then polished for installation. Quartz countertops are manufactured from crushed quartz that is mixed with pigment for coloration and resin as a binder. Granite is very heat tolerance where engineered quarts is not.
What is quartzite?
Quartzite is a hard, non-foliated metamorphic rock which was originally pure quartz sandstone. Sandstone is converted into quartzite through heating and pressure usually related to tectonic compression within orogenic belts.
What is marble?
Marble is a rock resulting from metamorphism of sedimentary carbonate rocks, most commonly limestone or dolomite rock. Metamorphism causes variable recrystallization of the original carbonate mineral grains. The resulting marble rock is typically composed of an interlocking mosaic of carbonate crystals.
What is a countertop installation arrangement fee?
This fee is what Discount Granite charges your fabricator to complete and finalize the estimate, as well as selecting and storing the customers specific slabs and keeping the fabricator’s schedule. This is not an additional fee for the customer. This is deducted from the Fabricator’s labor invoice.
